Worst and Funniest American Idols Season 8 Auditions

Watching bad auditions on the American Idol has always been one of the funniest aspects of the series. It is always amusing to watch people who really can’t sing, but seem to have deluded themselves into believing that they do.

However, this year the producers are showing a lot of restrain and reducing focus on outrageous auditions. Yet, just like every year, this season has also seen its share of really bad auditions.

Worst and Funny Auditions in American Idol Season 8

Here are our pick of some of the worst auditions of Season 8 of American Idols:

Dean Anthony : This 27 year old failed entrepreneur sang Simply Red’s ‘Stars’. His rendition of the song was so bad that it wasn’t halfway into the song did most people recognized the tune. When Simon commented on his bizarre plaid coat and the color of his hair, he said something incorrigible like ‘the carpet matches the drapes.’

Dalton Powell : This 18 year old really had it bad, He had never performed before an audience ever and he was just really awkward. Although he was really very nice, which in fact makes it even more awkward, he couldn’t bring his Rubik’s cube solving genius to his singing. He sang Smokey Robinson’s ‘Oh Baby Baby’ and very badly at that. When Paula asked if he was a fan of the show, his only reply was ‘Simon makes it interesting.’

Randy Madden : This sales representative from California started with admitting that he had no vocal training, but that he was so good that he was stopped by people in the streets encouraging him to audition for this show. Before singing, he confidently said, “I just want someone to tell me I’m great.” He started with a disastrous rendition of Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ On a Prayer’ but broke into tears halfway through the song. Simon called him a drama queen and said that he simply didn’t have star quality.
