Effigy of Pia Wurtzbach and Steve Harvey burned in Colombia on New Year’s eve
Burning effigies during New Year’s eve is a tradition in Latin America including Colombia. The call it Los Anos Viejos where they create an effigy made from used clothes, saw dust, news paper and anything that can easily burned.
One thing that caught the attention of the netizens was a video of an effigy wearing a blue gown, a crown, a Miss Philippines sash and a printed face of Pia Wurtzbach pasted on the head of the dummy.
Based on the video uploaded on Facebook, a Colombian named Noider Almanza Barraza showed Pia Wurtzbach’s effigy being burned on the street with a noisy background.
As of this writing the video was already viewed 142,310 times and according to the details of the video, the person who uploaded it was located at San Felipe, Barranquilla, Colombia.
A lot of Colombians are also posting negative comments against Pia Wurtzbach on Miss Universe official Facebook Fan Page and Instagram account.
It all started after Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez was wrongly announced as the winner by the Miss Universe host Steve Harvey during the coronation night in Las Vegas Nevada, USA.
