Philippine showbiz 2009 : Politics and drama top them all

The drama that unfolded at a Senate hearing between cosmetologist Dr. Hayden Kho and actress Katrina Halili as well as celebrities filing candidacies for public office topped this year’s showbiz news.

Entertainment critics were one in saying that it was a good year, a bad year. a happy year, sad year but with a happy ending for the showbiz industry in 2009.

As Philippine Star movie columnist Ricky Lo puts it: it is complete with all the ingredients: Action, drama, tragedy, excitement, suspense, fantasy, surprises and — you’re right — sex, lies and videotapes.

In the middle of 2009, sizzling videotapes “starring” Dr. Kho and, among others, Halili and Maricar Reyes turned all of us into insatiable voyeurs.

Dermatologist Dr. Vicki Belo accused Halili of “stealing” her boyfriend Kho and Halili in turn accused Kho of having filmed their bedroom mazurka with neither her knowledge nor permission.

Reyes wisely opted to remain tight-lipped up to now. Charges were filed against Hayden whose license was revoked by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).

Towards the end of the year, Kho was reported to have tried anew to commit suicide but his lawyer denied it.

The suspension of ABS-CBN’s Wowowee host Willie Revillame showed a video of the remains of former President Cory Aquino last August being transferred from La Salle Greenhills in Mandaluyong City to the Manila Cathedral was inserted into the telecast of Wowowee, catching host Revillame unaware and startled. Audio CD Revealed by Halili’s Camp Irrelevant Says Belo

Katrina Halili’s camp released an audio CD that contains a conversation between Dr. Hayden Kho, Dra. Vicki Belo and Lolit Solis that reveals the plot of the three to destroy Katrina’s reputation. But Dra. Belo and Atty. Adel Tamano say that this audio CD is irrelavant and has no bearing to the case.

Sunday at the showbiz talk show The Buzz, Lolit Solis admitted that the conversation really occured however the plot to destroy Katrina is not true. Lolit is one of Katrina’s defenders but Dra. Belo asked for professional media advice to help Dra. Kho in presenting himself in the media.

Lolit Speaks regarding her alleged involvement in Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili Sex Video Scandal

The involvement of Lolit Solis in the sex video issue of Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili has gotten deeper because of an audio clip. Yesterday, Lolit Solis explained her side on Startalk.

According to Lolit Solis her reaction regarding the video that came out is “Ay, kawawa naman ito! Hindi man lang niya alam na bini-video siya.”

When she was at the house of Vicki Belo on May 21, 2009, Vicki wanted Lolit to talk to Hayden and to give him a chance. Lolit agreed. But then, Lolit felt that Hayden won’t ever change. Thus, Lolit said, “Pagka pinayagan mong makalusot siya dito, eh marami pang kagaguhan na gagawin.” Therefore, Lolit decided not to be part of the “Hayden Team”.

As per Lolit, the said audio clip that was recorded last May 21, 2009 is 3 hours long but it was published in the news that it is only 70 minutes.

Lolit wishes that this issue would finally end and that the right actions will take place.

Vicki Belo Has Master Copy of Hayden Kho Sex Videos-Eric Chua

Vicki Belo is the one who has the master copy of Hayden Kho’s sex videos. This according to Eric Johnston Chua in a recent TV interview, refuting reports that it is in his possession.

He gave out his version of his involvement in seizing Kho’s hard drive weeks after Belo admitted that she had asked Chua to take it from his (Kho) condo. According to Belo, she asked him to go to Kho’s condo and retrieve his hard drive and laptop upon learning of the said sex videos. Belo even said she furnished him with a key to the condo. Belo said that the hard drive and laptop was then surrendered to her by Chua, after which, he (Chua) gave her a dvd and said something like “Heto, regalo ko sa’yo ( Here, my gift to you).” It was implied in her statement that it was a copy of Kho’s sex Videos.

Some of Belo’s statements are correct, according to Chua based on his interview. He admitted that Belo did ask him to retrieve the laptop and hard drive at Kho’s condo, He also admitted that Belo did indeed furnish him the key to the condo, adding that Belo said it was okay to take the said items because they are property of the Belo Medical Clinic. But, it was Belo who asked him to make a dvd copy of the videos, not the othere way arround, as what is implied in Belo’s statement.

According to Chua, after surrendering the items to Belo, she gave him a blank DVD and ordered him to look for the videos, burn them on the DVD, and then delete them. He says after he finished what Belo ordered him to do, he turned over the DVD to the doctor and left. He claims that was the extent of his involvement.

Eric Johnston Chua is the leading suspect in leaking Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili’s sex video on the internet. After the interview, would the attention now shift to Vicki Belo?

Bea Alonzo and Hayden Kho Sex Video : Is it true?

Is it true that Bea Alonzo also has a sex video  with Hayden Kho? The young actress finally broke her silence in an interview during a fashion show on Sunday for retail giant Bench. The star of Betty La Fea denies the rumored video, saying that it’s just that- a rumor. She says she hasn’t met Kho–not even at the Belo clinic.

The issue came from a blind item alleging that a contract star of the Kapamilya network is one of the women in Kho’s rumored 40-plus sex videos. It wasn’t long after that people started dropping the actress’ name.

Alonzo said that at first she found the issue funny and absurd, candidly retelling how she found out about the issue. She says that a friend form a tabloid called her up and told her (about the video). She said that at first it didn’t bother her at all, but got bothered when the issue persistently spread. She felt that the issue might tarnish her good image, and could affect her endorsements, which is why she chose to speak out.

According to her, the rumors about her alleged tryst with the doctor have changed as they passed from one person to another. One version claims that a video of Alonzo was taken at the Belo clinic while she was getting dressed. But staff and reps for the clinic assured her that no such thing occurred.

Bea Alonzo hopes that her speaking out about the alleged sex video would put an end to the rumors.

Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho Sex Scandal Update

Here is an update on the Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho sex scandal saga. Hayden Kho finally broke his silence early last week and said he was sorry about the entire incident, and that he didn’t mean for the videos to be leaked.

Another personality involved in the scandal, Eric Johson Chua, also broke his silence by finally agreeing to a media interview. Chua is one of 2 people suspected of  leaking the videos online. Kho’s friend Bistek Rosario, the other person alleged to have leaked the videos, still hasn’t released a statement. It was rumored that Chua was extorting 4 million pesos from Kho, and when Kho refused to pay him the amount, Chua allegedly sold the videos to a video piracy syndicate for 2 million pesos. Chua Has denied all accusations.

Kho’s former girlfriend, Dr. Vicki Belo, has denied allegations that it was her who had ordered the videos leaked. She did, however, admit to having confiscated Kho’s hard drive with the help of Chua upon learning of the alleged sex videos last year.

Irene Kho earlier this week  joined in the whole circus by going off in a tirade against Katrina Halili and her  manger Lolit Solis. Mrs. Kho claims among a lot of things that it was Halili who got her son (Hayden) into drugs, and taht all of this drama is being orchestrated by Solis.

Kho  also met up with Optical Media Board Chairman Edu Manzano late last week . The doctor  sought the help of Manzano to try and put an end to the circulation of DVDs of his sex videos. The OMB operatives have confiscated a lot of the said videos during raids in Quiapo last week.

While all of this was happening, the Senate continued it’s investigation on the matter. The body invited the personalities involved, but it was only Halili and Kho who made an appearance. Belo was represented by her lawyer. During the hearing, an angry Abner Afuang doused Kho with water. Afuang was arrested and taken out of the session hall. He later explained his actions, saying he felt really mad at Kho adn for waht he did to Halili.

The National Bureau of Investigation also conducted it’s own investigation on the matter amidst allegations of Kho’s and Halili’s drug use. The agency has extended an invitation to both top ahve themselves tested, but neither appeared at the NBI on the designated date.
