Pinoy Rap Song “Banana” Being Banned by CBCP

The Filipino version of Akon’s “Right Now (Na Na Na)”, “Banana” is being banned by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to play in the airwaves due to its double meaning. According to the rapper-songwriter Blanktape, his songs do not have sexual undertones and only wrote the songs primarily for entertainment of the masses. Another song being banned by CBCP is “Nagmahal Ako” which also gives an indecent undertone to the masses. Blanktape did not know yet about CBCP’s plan of action against his songs so he was still a bit of a shock when he was interviewed by PEP.
