While everyone is busy on holidays 2012 preparations, another Filipina made it to one of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.

Miss Philippines’ Gwendolyn Ruais, bagged the first runner up crown in the 2011 Miss World beauty pageant in a star-studded event held at at London’s Earls Court in London.

A total of 113 women competed in this year’s pageant in which Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos Colmenares, a 21-year-old human resources graduate from Venezuela emerged as the 2011 Miss World.

The first runner up went to Philippines while Puerto Rico grabbed the third spot. The top seven finalists were from Korea, Venezuela, England, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Scotland.

A jubilant Filipino pageant fanatics was around to cheer Miss Philippines and waved the Philippine flag every time her name was called on stage.

Gwendolyn is a French-Filipino model, who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management last year in her home country.

The newest season of Pinoy Big Brother which is called PBB Unlimited has premiered Saturday night, October 29, 2011. Another set of PBB housemates that we will watch everyday, the director revealed that the PBB livestream will be available soon although it was no longer being provided in some European Big Brother editions.

Robi Domingo, a former PBB finalist-turned actor, and Martin Concio, will host PBB Unlimited together with Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzales. Mariel Rodriguez who just transfered to TV5 is no longer part of the show.

Martin Concio is ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio’s son. Pinoy Big Brother or PBB debuted in 2005 through a partnership with the British production company, Endemol.

While everyone is planning and searching for holiday deals, these 14 housemates will stay inside the house following Big Brothers Rules and tasks.

The reality TV shows for Pinoy’s who wants to lose weight has just ended. Larry Martin, this years winner entered the Biggest Loser camp weighing 255 pounds and with only one goal in mind: to get fit so he could return to the police force. After four months of extreme physical training, he left the camp weighing only 170 pounds.

“I did not only lose my job; I also lost self-respect. I’ve always wanted to gain that back, and ‘The Biggest Loser’ was able to do that for me,” Larry quipped. Larry lost the highest weight percentage of 39.61% since ABS-CBN’s “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” aired its first episode on May 30.

Martin took home P1 million, a condominium unit from DCMI Homes, a Vespa scooter, a 40-inch Sony Bravia Internet TV, Whirlpool appliances, P100,000 worth of salon services, and a lifetime gym membership from Fitness First. Martin will also appear on the cover of the November issue of Men’s Health magazine.

I really admire the Pinoy contestants in the reality TV show because losing weight is not as easy as finding flights to paphos.
