After a very exiting evening of ballroom competition, Dancing with the Stars awarded its Season 10 crown. The winners were Nicole Scherzinger and her professional partner Derek Hough. It had come down to them against men’s figure skater Evan Lysacek and his pro partner Anna Trebunskaya and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Dancing with the Stars Winner
Second and third place went to Evan and Erin respectively. Nicole was speechless when she was announced as a winner and could only scream for joy having become victorious over the very stiff competition. Derek was a little more composed as this was actually his second win on the show; his first win was with Brooke Burke in Season 7.
The pair managed the win due to a combined score that comprised of viewer votes and their two night competition score which was a remarkable 115 out of 120 points. Evan and Anna only managed to score 108. Although it was the last show, there was still competition to be enjoyed.
The show opener also featured dances from some of the Season 10 cast members, and then the three teams left decided to dance an Argentine tango for the last judge’s score. Once Erin and Maksim were eliminated, Nicole and Derek did their final number to “Proud Mary” with Nicole dressed in a Tina Turner inspired gold dress. She looked stunning, but it was the amazing dancing with Derek that sealed their fate with the judges.
Of course what season finale would be complete without a little drama which was provided here thanks to Kate Gosselin to also returned to dance with her partner Tony Dovolani. Apparently during the rehearsal for the final show, there was some tension as Kate was pleading with Tony to make their dance more technical.
