Maxene Magalona Sues Ex-Personal Assistant
Actress Maxene Magolona sued her ex-personal assistant Edna Padiernos for fraud. Padierno allegedly forged Magalona’s signature and tried to encash a check amounting to P40,000. Magalona found out about this when she realized that one of her checks were missing. She asked the bank about it and it that was when it was confirmed by Magalona that Padiernos forged her signature. Padiernos even asked Magalona for P30,000 cash for the burial of her mother on the very same day that the check was attempted to be encashed.
Padiernos was caught in the act of accepting the P30,000 cash from Magalona through an entrapment operation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). Padiernos admitted off hand that she forged Magalona’s signature.
Magalona filed two fraud charges at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
