The New Darna
Marian Rivera was named as the new Darna in GMA 7′s remake of the hit TV series in a press conference held at the GMA 7 network headquarters last April 23rd. It was a unanimous decision, according to Wilma Galvante, Senior Vice-President for Entertainment and TV for GMA.
For months, speculations have been going around as to the identity of the actress who will next portray the Filipino super heroine. Rivera’s name has been one of the most prominent. Prior to being tapped as the new Darna, the Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang star consistently answered that she has no knowledge whether she will be taking on the role during interviews.
Marian Rivera is best known for her roles as the leads in Marimar and Dyesebel. She joins a long list of famous Filipina actresses who have donned the costume of Darna. The most recent, and probably most famous, was Angel Locsin–who appeared as the super heroine in the 2005 TV series also on GMA 7.

lyk ko c marian,but for me d cya bagay maging darna,mistisa look kasi cya,kya mas guto ko pa din c angel na darna,kitang kita sa kanya yung gandang filipina look….

d proportion katawan ni marian. pati kulay ng balat d pantay. kakasawa din yang darna na yan. ibang role dapat para magka acting award naman yang c marian.

Mas bagay k angel locsin ang darna dahil pang masang filipino talaga sya. Noon pa man minahal na sya ng tao khit san man syang network lumipat.

mas gusto ko si angel as darna..di bagya kay marian mag darna.. agree ako sa mga sinabi nyo..di talaga sisikat yang si marian..ayoko sakanya..di naman sya maganda..feeling naman nya..mas maganda pa si angel sakanya.
