ABS-CBN Maintains the Lead in National TV Ratings for March 2015

March 2015 National TV Ratings

ABS-CBN still remains undisputed in national TV viewership in March as it hit an average national audience share of 42%, which is seven percentage points higher compared to GMA’s 35%, based on data from Kantar Media.

Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.

The primetime block (6PM-12MN) of the Kapamilya network maintained its strength with an average audience share of 48%. It is 16 points higher compared to the 32% of GMA. The primetime block is the most important part of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers effectively. Continue Reading

The Buzz Showbiz Talk Show bids farewell

Nash Aguas and Alexa Ilacad Love Team in Wansapanataym Special

Kapamilya tween love team Nash Aguas and Alexa Ilacad will open year 2014 with a magical tale about love and family as they topbill the newest month-long special of “Wansapanataym” titled ‘Enchanted House.’

From their Kapamilya teen comedy series “Luv U,” Nash and Alexa will further capture the hearts of weekend viewers this Saturday (January 4) as they portray the roles of Philip (Nash) and Alice (Alexa), two friends who are the kids of old flames. Because of their parents’ bitter past, conflict starts to arise between the two families, especially when they all found out about the curse that Philip’s mother put on Alice’s parents.

Will the two friends be able to heal the wounds of their parents’ past and finally teach them to forgive and forget?

Together with Nash and Alexa in ‘Enchanted House’ are Ara Mina, Dominic Ochoa, Nikki Valdez, Candy Pangilinan, Jaime Fabregas, Celine Lim, Brace Arquiza, Marikit Morales, and Aldred Gatchalian. It is written by Reggie Amigo and directed by Erick Salud.

Kevin Macdonald tells story of Christmas in a Day with new film for Sainsbury’s

The idea of a TV clip becoming a major news story isn’t a new one and around Christmas time each year there is usually one standout offering from a major brand that catches the public’s imagination. This goes on to become something set in the memory as defining that particular festive season.

This year it is sure to be Sainsbury’s Christmas in a Day film, which is actually a 45-minute festive movie Directed by Kevin Macdonald and produced by Scott Free Films and Ridley Scott Associates.

PBB5 exact airing date is not yet announced but Dyogi said that more announcements will be released in a couple of months. ABS-CBN already lined-up several reality shows such as The Biggest Loser: Doubles, I Dare You Season 2 and the currently airing of The Voice of the Philippines. It’s more likely that PBB Season 5 will be aired late this year or on the first quarter of 2014.

Janice Javier performed Aretha Francklin’s ‘A Natural Woman’ during the blind audition episode of the reality show on Saturday. Janice Javier joins Team Apl.

The 38-year-old contestant from Pasay City is of the Highest paid International Filipino Singer in Bangkok Thailand.

After Lee Grane, Janice Javier also trended on Worldwide Twitter dashboard an hour after the show aired on ABS-CBN – the Philippines largest Media Outfit.

“I think I’m very much ready to represent myself and people who’s like me. I want to show everybody na hindi lang mga payat, mga sexy ang pwedeng sumikat.

Sabi ko nga eh, I’m not here to conquer the world. I’m just here to show that I’m worth it,” she said.

“Kasi I’ve never joined any singing contest before because of how I look like. Nasobrahan lang ako sa kalusugan.

I think this is my chance to prove and show what I can do, kaya tingin ko ‘The Voice’ is perfect for people like me who’s got insecurities about how we look like,” she said.

The Voice of the Philippines high ratings

Most Filipinos at home and online tuned into the premiere telecast of the country’s most anticipated singing-reality show, “The Voice of the Philippines,” and watched the first set of artists who tried to woo coaches Apl de Ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Ms. Lea Salonga using only their singing voices in the show’s unique Blind Auditions round.

According to data from Kantar Media, “The Voice of the Philippines” hit a national TV rating of 30.2%, or 18 points higher than GMA 7’s “Celebrity Bluff” (12.1%), in its pilot airing last Saturday (June 15). ABS-CBN REMAINS NUMBER ONE IN NATIONAL TV RATINGS FOR MARCH

More Filipino households across urban and rural homes continue to get their daily dose of news and entertainment from the country’s largest and leading multimedia conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation, which topped all TV stations in March (excluding Holy Week) with an average audience share of 41%, or 10 points ahead of GMA’s 31%, based on data from Kantar Media.
