Now Lou is 2013 Bb Pilipinas candidate # 21.

The 2013 Bb Pilipinas is also known as Bb Pilipinas GOLD as the pageant celebrates its 50 glorious years. As such as a representation, there are 50 stunning candidates this year with three coveted crowns to be triumphed namely Miss Universe Philippines, Bb Pilipinas International and Bb Pilipinas Tourism and add some real tough competition to snag.

The NATIONAL costume parade of the most prestigious beauty pageant of this country BB Pilipinas pageant took place last Monday, March 18 at the fine Rizal Ballroom of the posh Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The 50 glamorous Bb Pilipinas candidates stunningly donned the national costumes provided by some elite and creative Filipino designers of their choice.

Here are some of the standouts.

From the traditional Maria Clara to the Muslim-inspired, truly we can commend the culturally inclined fashion designers for their creativity and craftsmanship and to the lovely Binibinis for giving full justice to the designers’ stunning creations.

Traditionally in Bb Pilipinas pageant, the nation’s most prestigious beauty extravaganza, one of the most awaited and exciting segments is the press presentation. Said vital event took place last Monday, March 18, 2013 at the fine Rizal Ballroom of the posh Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The 50 gorgeous candidates this year coming from all over the nation presented themselves before the press and some invited guests in their fabulous swimwear showcasing their toned bodies, oozing confidence and striking personal styles.

Now everyone in this pageant amorous country cannot seem to contain his/her delight anymore as the coronation night on April 14 draws closer.

Three fêted titles are being battled on by the 50 candidates this year i.e. Miss Universe Philippines, Bb Pilipinas International and Bb Pilipinas Tourism. Pageant finals will be held at the SmartAranetaCenter to be aired at ABS CBN.

Who shall emerge the victorious ones among the 50? Soon shall they be revealed. Watch out. 2013 Bb Pilipinas is going to very exciting.

Angelica Panganiban won the Outstanding Performance by an Actress award in a Gag or Comedy Program for the show “Banana Split” in the Entertainment Press Society Golden Screen TV Awards. She first received this award in 2011 for the same show.

“I feel happy and appreciated that a lot of people see my talent in comedy. I also want to thank Enpress awards for acknowledging all our efforts in Banana Split,” she said.

Angelica also appears in the newly launched “Banana Nite”, the nightly serving of the gag show where they feature new gags and talents. Watch out for Karen Lavida Loca (Angelica Panganiban), Julius Baba (Zanjoe Marudo) and Ces Dragon (Melai Cantiveros) in “Kandila”, spoof of “Bandila”, Jason Gainza as Boy Abunda in “Ihaw Na”, spoof of “Ikaw Na”, and Angelica as Kris Aquino in the segment “Krissy and Me”. They will also be joined by new cast members – comedians from different comedy bars.

“Banana Nite” airs Monday to Thursday after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.

Robin Padilla finally broke his silence about the recent controversy involving his wife Mariel Rodriguez, who reportedly left their house after a heated argument about the actor’s controversial love scenes with Kris Aquino in ABS-CBN’s hit primetime drama series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.”

In an exclusive interview of “The Buzz” aired last Sunday (February 10), Robin admitted that Mariel was deeply affected by the scenes in the TV series. However, Robin was firm in saying that Mariel has nothing to be jealous about with his relationship with Kris. “We know our limits. At our age, we won’t get into something complicated. We’re happy as friends,” said Robin.

Robin also confirmed that her intimate scenes with Kris had caused a conflict so serious that Mariel actually gave him back their wedding ring and left their house. However, Robin clarified that Mariel was gone from their house only for hours. “Kris immediately called her up during the time she left the house. That’s why I was so happy when Kris told me that she’s going back home,” said Robin.

Despite the recent happenings, Robin denied that he will limit himself from doing love scenes in his future TV and movie projects. “Why will it be prohibited? It’s part of the job. And Mariel will never be an obstacle in my work,” he said, “I just did what a husband would do to win back his wife. But it doesn’t mean that I’ll be a coward for my wife. She has to understand my point.”

Meanwhile, primetime viewers will surely be hooked with “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” especially with the non-stop revelations in the story. How will Roxanne’s (Kris) cancer change her and Bog’s (Robin) family life? What will push Roxanne to surrender the only man she loves to her sister Ruth (Anne Curtis)?

The much-awaited 85th Academy Awards, more prominently known as the Oscars, will once again set the stage to honor the best in cinema. It will air live and complete from Dolby Theater on Velvet, the premier channel for red carpet events in the Philippines.

Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” led the field with nominations for best director, picture, actor (Daniel Day-Lewis), supporting actress (Sally Field) and supporting actor (Tommy Lee Jones). The historical film is about the 16th president’s attempt to pass an anti-slavery amendment to the Constitution before the end of the Civil War.

Coming next with 11 nods was the visually stunning “Life of Pi”, Ang Lee’s adaptation of Yann Martel’s award-winning novel about an Indian teenager and a Bengal tiger adrift in a lifeboat. The story of their struggle for survival in the open sea was nominated for best picture, best director, and best cinematography.

Tom Hooper’s musical “Les Miserables”, after Victor Hugo’s classic novel, earned 7 nominations including best picture, best actor (Hugh Jackman), and best supporting actress (Anne Hathaway).

Real-life mission stories “Argo” by Ben Affleck received seven nods including best picture, and best supporting actor (Alan Arkin) and “Zero Dark Thirty” by Kathryn Bigelow received five nods including best picture, best actress (Jessica Chastain), and best original screenplay.
