On July 11th, the tour will make a stop at in Philadelphia Pennsylvania at the Wachovia Center.

This tour will be made up of all ten of the finalists from the show including the final two, Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox.

Lucky fans may get a chance to meet their favorite idol, but at the least will be able to witness these performances for the very first time.

The tour kicks off at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit on July 1st and finishes up in Pittsburgh on September 14.

The troupe will be comprised of the last 10 finalists including winner Lee DeWyze and runner up Crystal Bowersox.

Each Idol will have the chance to meet the very people who voted for them as well as perform at these incredible venues.

Will Charice Show up in Glee?

Is this true? Well, Charice’s manager in the US maintains that it is still just a rumor. However, Charice’s Philippine manager Grace Mendoza told Inquirer Entertainment that Charice was indeed joining the show.

Additionally, she is reportedly joining as a full time cast member, not just a guest. To add more confusion to this, Charice herself has denied this rumor on her Twitter. Her official statement reads “I just want to let you all know, that it’s not true that I’m going to be on Glee,” she said, adding, “How I wish!”

Charice Pempengco was born Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco and is an international singer who gained popularity through YouTube. In 2005 she joined Little Big Star which is a Philippine talent show patterned after American Idol. Although she was cast off the show in the first round, she was later called back as a wildcard competitor and actually ended up as a finalist on the show.

She ended up third on the show, but became popular in 2007 after fans began to post videos of her live performances on YouTube. Like many, the videos received millions of views making Pempengco global singing internet sensation.

American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was one of these who viewed the videos and invited Charice to the US to be an on air guest. Charice made her American debut on the Ellen show in 2007 singing two songs on the show.

Now my speculation is that she will indeed join Glee. The reason for all the confusion is probably because last minute arrangements and contracts have not been finalized, so the network has declined to issue any statement.

If she is not joining Glee, the popular singer mentioned that she will appear in a US TV Show… Will this be American Idol? Stay tuned!

Pop idol was started in the year 2001 and was a big hit in British television. National auditions are held every year for selection to compete in the rounds where a panel of 3 judges decide on the fate of every singer. Phone in voting systems allow for elimination of singers and selection of the number of contestants the next rounds up to the final.

The previous complete panel of judges changes between 4 people and comprises of any 3 at a time. Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara Diogardi are the assortment of music producers and music directors who form the panel. Ryan Seacrest hosts the show and the American idol band is directed by Rickey Minor. The show is aired on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the USA.

The contestants on the show have to be free of any concurrent binding contracts for example record deals, talent acquisition contracts, etc although they may have had some in their past. Full time residents and citizens of the USA are eligible to participate in the show which has a permissible age of 16-28 in the current schedules but was allowing in the age range of 16-24 previously.

The maturity and diversity of contestants increased due to the increase of cut off upper age to 28 from 24. the contestants willing to audition the first round may have to produce a valid proof of age and the eligibility to work full time in the USA.

A parent or guardian may have to accompany a contestant in case he or she is below the age of 18. The contract with the show remains binding through the final episode even if the contestant is eliminated in the earliest rounds.

After the elimination rounds are done with the contestants go to Hollywood where they participate in other modified versions of the early rounds and then reach into the elimination rounds where the panel of judges give their votes and so do the watching TV audience who phone in to vote. The first round allows for a contestant to choose the song they would perform for the audition alone.

The second round allows for forming of groups with other contestants and singing in front of the panel of judges. The last and final rounds are fully solo and backed up by a band. The final round is probably less demanding than the other two rounds. The earlier shows also featured a wild card session where the contestants who were eliminated previously could perform again for another chance.

The final round themes that contestants chose to perform have included The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, Queen, Bon Jovi, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Gloria Estefan, etc.

“Last Supper No. 3″ won Best Film in Cinemalaya while “Ang Panggagahasa kay Fe” and “Colorum” both won the special jury award. Lou Veloso won the Best Actor award for his portrayal in “Colorum” and Ina Feleo won the best actress award for her portrayal in “Sanglaan”.

On the other hand, “Bonsai” won the Best Short Film.
