In legal papers posted to the courts today, the late Michael Jackson has appointed his mother Katherine Jackson as legal guardian of his children and executor of (a part of) his estate. He named former Supreme and Diva Diana Ross as a “back-up”.
The children — Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. (known as Prince Michael), aged 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, aged 11; and Prince Michael II, aged 7 — are living at the Jackson family compound in San Fernando Valley.
News have come out that the King of Pop didn’t legally adopt his three children. How this information will affect the custody of his children is yet to be determined.
Katherine Jackson will remain executor until Friday, when a hearing will be set for Jackson’s estate.
In other Michael Jackson news, the Late King of Pop’s family has announced early this afternoon through a spokesperson that there will no longer be a public viewing of Jackson’s remains in Neverland, much to the dismay of his fans who have already gathered outside his home. The 30-car motorcade to bring his remains to Neverland isn’t pushing through either. The spokesperson gave no reason as to why the viewing and the motorcade were canceled.
While it may be possible to have Jackson’s wake at his home, reported plans of him being buried there might not be. According to California law, as pointed out by CNN’s Nancy Grace in her show, a person’s remains may not be buried in one’s backyard. His family has yet to comment or release a statement regarding this matter.
There have been speculations that they ( Jackson’s family) may convert Neverland Ranch into another Graceland.
