The most appealing aspect about American Idol is that it reaches across to so many people and gives them a chance to make it big.

The Eight Season began in January 2009. It is expected that this season will bring in a lesser audition episode and will feature more half-hour result shows. The show is also going to bring out more of the emotional side of contestants, to reveal to audience the gamut of emotions that goes behind the scenes with contestant.

In this season, there is going to be a slight change in the audition rules. In the Hollywood round, formerly there were three rounds, however, now there is going to be only one round. Selected signer must please judges with their signing talents.

Those not so impressive can try again in front of the judges again. After this the judges will make their final decision. Those selected will go into the semi-final round which will be held in the CBS Television City. In all thirty-six semifinalists will be selected.

Once again, in this season the semi-final rounds will have a slight variation. The candidate selection will be patterned along what was done during the first three show seasons. Selected semi-finalists will be divided into three groups and the best of the three will selected. Now the wildcard round is going to be included also, wherein an eliminated candidate has the chance to get back to being in the finals.

The finals will be held in Nokia Theatre. A new judge is going to join – Kara DioGuard (songwriter and record producer) in this season. The show will showcase thirty six semifinalists and the semifinalist with the top vote will make it to the top twelve. However, one thing that will not be featured in this season is ‘Idol Gives Back’, owing to the current economic crisis.

Every one waits with baited breath about this season’s final winner. Auditions for the show are currently underway and will go on till the end of August 2009. While the show does it rounds across important cities of America, every contestant who auditions is hopeful that he or she will be selected amongst others to be a part of this big experience.
