Ai-Ai Expected to Win Box Office Queen Award

Ai-Ai Delas Alas won the title Comedy Box Office Queen at the recently concluded Box Office Entertainment Awards organized by the Guillermo Mendoza Scholarship Foundation. Many people were expecting her to get the title of Box Office Queen because of the success of “Tanging Ina Ninyong Lahat” in 2008 which eventually continued to be shown in 2009. Obviously, sales for 2008 weren’t added in 2009 so that is one of the reasons she wasn’t able to get the Box Office Queen award. The film “A Very Special Love” starred by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo had high net sales in 2009 thus making both the lead stars the Box Office King and Queen respectively.

Ai-Ai said that Sarah deserves the title more than her. She even jokingly said “Box Office din naman to, e, kaya lang, meron siyang comedy”.
