Adam Lambert In; Norman Mitchell Out- American Idol Top 36 Batch 2 Results

And the results are out.

After battling it out on the Idol stage last night with songs picked from the Billboard Top 100, 3 from batch 2 of the American Idol Top 36 earned spots to advance to the Top 12.

The 2nd batch opened the show with a production number of RnB Hip-Hop artist Ne-yo’s “Closer,” after a montage of performances and Ryan Seacrest’s announcement that last night’s performances raked in 25 million votes.

First called to the stage were 16-year old Allison Iraheta, welder Matt Breitzke, and Jesse Langseth. Iraheta rocked the Idol stage last night with her rendition of Heart’s “Alone,” wowing the judges and audience alike. When the results were read, Seacrest bid goodbye to Breitzke and Langseth. Allison Iraheta stays on to be in the Top 12.

Megan Corkrey is called to the stage along with Matt Giraud, Kris Allen and Jeanine Vailles. Vailles was the first to go, followed by Giraud and then,Corkrey. Kris Allen nabs the fifth spot on the Top 12. Allen performed “Man In The Middle” in last night’s show.

Former American Idol contestant Brooke White performs, promoting her single “Hold Up My Heart” which is taken from her debut album. After White’s performance, the next batch were called to the stage. Seacrest called for Mishavonna Henson, Jasmine Murray and Kai Kalama. All three contestants were sent home.

Adam Lambert and Norman MItchell faced off for the final spot. Mitchell a.ka. Norman Gentle performed ” And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” last night. But it was Lambert’s Rocking performance of “Satisfaction” that won over America. He secures the 6th spot in the Top 12.

The three finalist join Danny Gokey, Micheal Sarver, and Alexis Grace in the Top 12.

    I really enjoyed the final 5 Idol group song last night. It was sad to see Aaron Kelly got rid of but I do think the other singers were better singers hence he needed to go!
