Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho Sex Scandal Update

Here is an update on the Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho sex scandal saga. Hayden Kho finally broke his silence early last week and said he was sorry about the entire incident, and that he didn’t mean for the videos to be leaked.

Another personality involved in the scandal, Eric Johson Chua, also broke his silence by finally agreeing to a media interview. Chua is one of 2 people suspected of  leaking the videos online. Kho’s friend Bistek Rosario, the other person alleged to have leaked the videos, still hasn’t released a statement. It was rumored that Chua was extorting 4 million pesos from Kho, and when Kho refused to pay him the amount, Chua allegedly sold the videos to a video piracy syndicate for 2 million pesos. Chua Has denied all accusations.

Kho’s former girlfriend, Dr. Vicki Belo, has denied allegations that it was her who had ordered the videos leaked. She did, however, admit to having confiscated Kho’s hard drive with the help of Chua upon learning of the alleged sex videos last year.

Irene Kho earlier this week  joined in the whole circus by going off in a tirade against Katrina Halili and her  manger Lolit Solis. Mrs. Kho claims among a lot of things that it was Halili who got her son (Hayden) into drugs, and taht all of this drama is being orchestrated by Solis.

Kho  also met up with Optical Media Board Chairman Edu Manzano late last week . The doctor  sought the help of Manzano to try and put an end to the circulation of DVDs of his sex videos. The OMB operatives have confiscated a lot of the said videos during raids in Quiapo last week.

While all of this was happening, the Senate continued it’s investigation on the matter. The body invited the personalities involved, but it was only Halili and Kho who made an appearance. Belo was represented by her lawyer. During the hearing, an angry Abner Afuang doused Kho with water. Afuang was arrested and taken out of the session hall. He later explained his actions, saying he felt really mad at Kho adn for waht he did to Halili.

The National Bureau of Investigation also conducted it’s own investigation on the matter amidst allegations of Kho’s and Halili’s drug use. The agency has extended an invitation to both top ahve themselves tested, but neither appeared at the NBI on the designated date.

Susan Boyle Placed 2nd on Britain’s Got Talent

Susan Boyle placed 2nd on Britain’s Got Talent, losing the title to dance troupe, “Diversity”. Third place went to Julian Smith. The winners earned a 100,000 pound prize and the chance to perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show.

She made it to the finals besting thousands of of acts who auditioned for a slot in this season’s finals. Her rendition of “Memory” from the musical “CATS” during the semi-finals garnered her a standing ovation from the audience, and also earned her a spot in this week’s finale.

For her finale performance, the 44-year old Boyle chose to sing “I Dreamed A Dream” from “Les Miserables,” the song she sang at her audition; and the same song which made her an Internet sensation. Soon after her audition video for the reality show was posted on Youtube, she became famous the world over.

When she came out on stage for her audition, the audience and judges were very quick to judge Boyle, snickering and giving her funny looks. But when she started to sing, a hush fell over the stunned crowd– jaws dropped as her beautiful voice filled the theater. Even the judges were in total shock, especially Cowell. That performance gave her her fisrt standing ovation.

Judge Piers Morgan said after her performance that “When the world was going through a pretty tough time and was looking for a bit of hope and inspiration, along came Susan Boyle to provide it.” Simon Cowell said “You are one special lady. You really are.”

She has come a long way since that first time she set foot on the Britain’s Got Talent stage. And though she only placed 2nd at the finale, there is no denying that Susan Boyle is a star!

AT&T “Helped” Kris Allen Win

American Idol is back in the spotlight a week after it aired it’s season finale due to a voting controversy.  According to a report in The New York Times, telecom giant AT&T may have helped Kris Allen win the title.

The report states that Kris Allen may have received extra votes from the telecom company, who is one of the biggest sponsors of the show. The report claims that representatives from the  company were present at two vote-raising functions for Allen in Arkansas. It was also reported that they ( AT&T) even gave out free mobile phones to the attendees and even taught them how to “power-text” their votes. It has been reported that no similar effort was been made for Adam Lambert.

Both Fox and AT&T claims it is a non-issue. A spokesperson for the company has released this statement: “In Arkansas, we were invited to attend the local watch parties organized by the community. A few local employees brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.”

A joint statement by the show producers and network execs Wednesday defended the integrity of the voting system, saying: “Fox and the producers of ‘American Idol’ are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

Yasmin Kurdi has decided not to sue co-star Baron Geisler

Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi has decided not to pursue acts of lasciviousness and unjust vexation charges against Kapamilya and Star Magic star Baron Geisler last week. On an TV interview by Lhar Santiago in 24 oras, Yasmien said she just wants a public apology coming from Baron Geisler.
 

Yasmien and Atty. Ferdinand Topacio (her lawyer) filed the charges / complaint before the Philippine National Police – Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) last May 25 in Camp Crame.

The formal complaint was about the alleged incident happened during a GMA show taping last May 21. Atty. Topacio added that everything was witnessed by the show’s cast and staff.

This was not the first time Baron Geisler was involved in similar complaints.

Night at the Museum sequel beats Terminator at North American box office

Comedian Ben Stiller beat action hero Christian Bale in North American movie theaters so far over this U.S. Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to box office figures released Sunday.

The 20th Century Fox comedy “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” is expected to take in an estimated 53.5 million dollars in the three-day reporting period, far exceeding the 30.4- million-dollar opening of its predecessor in 2006.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros.’ sci-fi sequel “Terminator Salvation” was in second place with 43 million dollars over the same period, according to box office tracking website Hollywood.com.

The latest “Terminator” film, starring Bale, fell short of the 44-million-dollar debut of the previous installment in the famous sci-fi series, 2003’s “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” which is the last in the franchise starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. More »

Kris Allen Is The New American Idol!

Kris Allen is the new American Idol! After a record-breaking number of votes that reached almost 100 million, Allen was declared the winner of this season’s competition– beating favored contestant Adam Lambert.

A hush fell across the crowd as Seacrest poised himself to make the announcement. The bewildered Allen, long called the ‘”dark horse” of the competition, was left speechless after host Ryan Seacrest made the announcement in Wednesday’s season finale at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood.
