Jal Joshua Lebumfacil : Another young Filipino wowed the viewers of Australia’s Got Talent

Filipinos are now getting more and more popular internationally as good singers. Recently Jal Joshua Lebumfacil wowed Australians with his latest performance in Australia’s Got Talent reality TV Show.

After his performance, he is now being called as the male version of Charice Pempengco. Jal Joshua is a 12 year old pure Cebuano who now lives in Cleveland in Redland City, south of Brisbane.

This young Pinoy singer impressed the judges including Australian actor-singer Tom Burlinson, singer Danii Minogue and musician-radio host Red Symons. He also received standing ovations from the studio audience for his three separate performances in the popular Australian talent show. He won Viewer’s Choice in the second episode of Series 3 Semi-Finals.

His family who only migrated from the Philippines in March last year was really supportive, Lets hope Jal Joshua gets a recording contract in Australia.

Judy Ann Santos And Ryan Agoncillo Wedding Revealed

Celebrity couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo wed yesterday morning and surprised everyone with a ceremony at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Church at San Juan, Batangas.

The ceremony started at 7 A.M., and by 7:20 P.M., they were pronounced husband and wife. The couple wanted to have a breakfast of tapsilog after the ceremony outside the church, but since they couldn’t at the moment, opted to go to a nearby resort for a breakfast. A reception was held during lunchtime for guests.

All preparations regarding Judy Ann and Ryan’s wedding were kept hush-hush. It had been speculated that they will wed May 2nd. Guests reportedly received an invitation stating ““Eto na. Inuman na. Punta kang nakaputi.” The invitation came with 1/2 of a flipflop pair; the other half the guest will collect at the venue.

The guest list included celebrities like Megastar Sharon Cuneta who also served as the Matron Of Honor, her husband Senator Francis Pangilinan, and daughter KC Concepcion. Also present at the ceremony were Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Paolo Abrera, Joyce Bernal, Rory Quintos, Suzy Entrata, Alfie Lorenzo, Cory Vidanes, Paolo Bediones, Gina Pareno, Dominic Ochoa and Gladys Reyes.

Marian Rivera Named The New Darna

The New Darna

Marian Rivera was named as the new Darna in GMA 7’s remake of the hit TV series in a press conference held at the GMA 7 network headquarters last April 23rd. It was a unanimous decision, according to Wilma Galvante, Senior Vice-President for Entertainment and TV for GMA.

For months, speculations have been going around as to the identity of the actress who will next portray the Filipino super heroine. Rivera’s name has been one of the most prominent. Prior to being tapped as the new Darna, the Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang star consistently answered that she has no knowledge whether she will be taking on the role during interviews.

Marian Rivera is best known for her roles as the leads in Marimar and Dyesebel. She joins a long list of famous Filipina actresses who have donned the costume of Darna. The most recent, and probably most famous, was Angel Locsin–who appeared as the super heroine in the 2005 TV series also on GMA 7.

Slumdog Millionaire Child Star Robina Ali For Sale

A Slumdog Millionaire child star is for sale. Robina Ali is reportedly being sold by her father for the sum of £200,000. Rafiq Quareshi says ensuring his daughter’s future is the main reason why he’s put her up for adoption, but according to reports, later admits that it is also driven by his desire to have a better life for himself. Rubina’s uncle Rajan More is also reportedly involved. The child’s mother is apparently unaware of what’s happening.

The nine-year old Rubina, who endeared herself to millions worldwide playing the young Latika in Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire”, which picked up eight Oscars including the coveted Best Picture award. The movie tells the rags to riches story of a young orphan who wins the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? from the Mumbai slums.

Reports say that Ali’s father, Rafiq, was approached by a well-to-do Middle Eastern family and expressed their desire to adopt the child. This said family saw the movie and fell in love with Rubina Ali. But this initial offer seemed to make Rafiq quite greedy, which is why he opted to consider other offers for his daughter Rubina. He says he will consider all offers and will give the adoption rights to the highest bidder, trading his daughter like some high priced commodity that is up for auction.

Child trafficking is not an uncommon practice in India. While highly illegal, poverty-stricken parents often opt to have their children adopted even for just £1000 just to get some money.

News Of The World broke the story of how Rafiq tried to sell his daughter to the highest bidder  by doing an undercover operation after a tip-off from a concerned family friend. They sent an undercover investigator who posed as someone who works for a rich sheik in Dubai who has expressed his interest to adopt the young Rubina. Rafiq’s reported initial offer for Rubina was just 50,000, which later ballooned to £200,00.

Indian authorities have been investigating the matter since the news broke out.

Mel Gibson’s Wife Files For Divorce

Mel Gibson’s wife, Robyn Gibson, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage. Robyn signed the papers over Holy Week- on Holy Thursday, to be exact- and filed them on Monday. She cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

In a joint statement released on Monday, Robyn and Mel said: “Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.”

But rumor mills have been buzzing that the main reason was Mel being with another woman. Mel Gibson was recently photographed vacationing with his alleged mistress, a Russian woman named Oksana.

Mel Gibson has vehemently denied these rumors and claims that there is no third party involved.

Some sources also claim the couple have been separated for almost 3 years. These same sources claim that the Gibsons separated shortly after Mel’s DUI arrest in back in 2006.

Gibson is worth an estimated $900 million, and according to reports, Robyn is seeking spousal support, ownership of “miscellaneous jewellery” and child support and joint-physical custody for their 10-year old son, Tom. Mel and Robyn met in 1977 back in Australia, and were married 3 years later, in 1980. The soon-to be ex married couple have seven children together, but only Tom is a minor.

Since she didn’t sign a prenup, Robyn is presumed to get half of Mel’s estimated fortune. According to California law, their communal properties, including earnings, are to be divided equally.

Robyn also reportedly hired the services of Laura Wasser, the divorce lawyer who has handled other high-profile divorces for celebrities Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie.

Richard Gutierrez files P 25-Million Libel Case Against PEP.Ph

Actor Richard Guttierez filed a P 25-million peso libel case against entertainment news website Philippine Entertainment Portal or more commonly know as PEP.ph. This is for allegedly tarnishing his reputation and good name. Accompanied by his family and friends, Gutierrez filed the case before the Makati Fiscal’s Office last Monday.

Respondents to the case are PEP.ph editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon, managing editor Karen Pagsolingan and writer Ferdinand Godinez.

Last month, an article was posted on the website alleging Gutierrez’ involvement in a scuffle with actor Micheal Flores at a party, which led to the former pointing a gun at Flores. The story broke merely hours after the incident allegedly transpired.PEP even claimed it had witnesses to the incident. Both actors strongly denied the incident ever transpired.

Joan Maglipon, PEP’s editor-in-chief, has since apologized to Gutierrez for “the premature and inadvertent uploading of the article”. The article has since been taken down.

Earlier today, PEP’s legal counsel announced in an interview that her client has no intention of backing down from the case. She also said that the revised article about the Gutierrez-Flores incident would soon be coming out.
